Job summary

Pertemps Reading is hiring a Warehouse Operative in Reading to join the logistics team. You will handle picking and packing orders with precision on full-time hours, with shifts 06:00–14:00, 14:00–22:00, or 22:00–06:00. Training is provided and a Drug & Alcohol test is required during induction.

Immediate starts available for detail-oriented, reliable candidates. Roles include loading/unloading, stock checks, packing, dispatch prep, and maintaining a clean, safe workspace in a busy warehousing

Qualifications

• Previous warehouse experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Picking and packing customer orders accurately.
• Loading and unloading vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Moving stock throughout the warehouse using pallet trucks (full training provided).
• Receiving, checking and putting away incoming goods.
• Preparing orders for dispatch and ensuring accurate labelling.
• Breaking down cardboard and operating the baler.
• Carrying out stock checks and general warehouse duties.
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.
• Following all health and safety procedures while working to quality and productivity standards.

Job description

As a Warehouse Operative in Reading, you will join Pertemps Reading's logistics team, handling picking and packing orders with precision. This full-time contract offers £12.71 to £14.52 per hour, with shift patterns covering 06:00–14:00, 14:00–22:00, or 22:00–06:00. Duties include loading and unloading vehicles, ensuring stock accuracy, and maintaining a tidy workspace. Full training is provided, and candidates must pass a Drug & Alcohol test. Immediate starts are available for those with strong attention to detail and reliability.
