Job summary

Babcock, RAF Cranwell-based, is seeking a Warehouse Operative to support aviation logistics and defence operations. You will join the on-site team handling storage, transfer and asset accountability in line with MOD, RAF and Babcock processes.

The role is full-time, 39 hours per week, with shifts Monday-Thursday 08:00-16:30 and Friday 08:00-15:30, at RAF Cranwell near Sleaford, Lincolnshire.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in supply chain or logistics within a military or civilian environment.
• Experience using logistics-based computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Carry out all logistics duties in line with MOD/RAF/Babcock policies and procedures.
• Maintain storage areas in accordance with Defence Logistics Framework and other regulatory requirements.
• Ensure personal authorisations, training and competencies remain up to date.
• Support the upkeep and husbandry of the FEG department, compounds and vehicles within your area of responsibility.
• Manage equipment establishments to ensure items are stored, maintained and accounted for accurately.

The role

As a Warehouse Operative, you’ll support the supply chain activities that keep our aviation operations moving. Working as part of the logistics team, you’ll carry out a wide range of duties in accordance with MOD, RAF and Babcock processes—ensuring equipment is stored correctly, accounted for accurately, and available when required.

Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:

• Carry out all logistics duties in line with MOD/RAF/Babcock policies and procedures.
• Maintain storage areas in accordance with Defence Logistics Framework and other regulatory requirements.

This is a full time, permanent, onsite role working 39 hours per week, Monday-Thursday 08:00-16:30 and Friday 08:00-15:30.

Essential experience of the Warehouse Operative:

• Previous experience in supply chain or logistics within a military or civilian environment.
• Experience using logistics-based computer systems.

Qualifications for the Warehouse Operative:

• Full UK driving licence.
• C1 LGV up to 7.5 tonnes (desirable).
• Forklift Truck (FLT) licence (desirable).

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard BPSS/ Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
