Adecco Group UK & Ireland is hiring a Warehouse Operative in Perth on rotating shifts. The role involves picking, moving stock, following warehouse procedures and performing manual handling in a cold environment.

You will work 40 hours per week with a 20% shift allowance, and there is potential overtime. Immediate start and ongoing training are provided as part of a busy warehouse team.

Responsibilities

• Picking and handling products accurately.
• Moving products and stock safely around the warehouse.

• Lifting items up to 7.5 kg.
• Pushing and pulling picking carts as part of daily duties.
• Using pallet trucks and other equipment after training.
• Supporting the loading of vehicles.
• Working outdoors when loading vehicles as required.
• Completing repetitive tasks with accuracy and safety.
• Carrying out safety checks before starting work.
• Identifying and reporting errors, hazards or issues.

• Base Pay: £13.20 per hour
• Shift Allowance: 20%
• Estimated Hourly Rate Including Shift Allowance: £15.84 per hour

• Contract: Temporary, 2 months

What You’ll Be Doing

• Picking and handling products accurately

• Lifting items weighing approximately 7.5kg
• Pushing and pulling picking carts as part of your daily duties
• Using pallet trucks and other mechanical handling equipment once trained
• Supporting the loading of vehicles
• Working outdoors when loading vehicles when required
• Completing repetitive tasks while maintaining a good level of accuracy
• Carrying out safety checks before beginning work
• Identifying and reporting errors, hazards or issues
• Maintaining high standards of safety, quality and housekeeping
• Working closely with colleagues to keep warehouse operations running efficiently
• Following all health and safety procedures

Comfortable Working in a Cold Environment?

An important part of this role is working within different temperature‑controlled environments. Up to 60% of your working time may be spent in cold‑room temperatures down to approximately 2°C.

We want candidates to know this before applying, so you’ll need to be genuinely comfortable working in colder conditions for significant periods of your shift.

Previous Warehouse Experience?

Previous warehouse experience would be useful, but the right attitude, reliability and willingness to learn are just as important.

If you’ve previously worked in warehousing, production, manufacturing, retail stock, logistics or another physical and fast‑paced environment, you may already have skills that would transfer well into this position.

Training will help you develop the warehouse and technical skills required for the role.

Reliability is essential. The warehouse relies on everyone working together, so we’re looking for someone who can commit to the rotating shift pattern, turn up on time and maintain a good standard throughout their shift.

You’ll also need to provide your own suitable safety footwear, and standard background checks will be required.
