Overview

We are currently recruiting for a local manufacturing business who are looking for a Warehouse Operative/Fork Lift Driver to join their busy and friendly team. You will be responsible for supporting the production function and supply chain by the efficient and safe transportation of goods. The role requires a fork lift licence and ability to record goods in and out.

Responsibilities
  • Accurately complete all documentation for goods in/out, including labelling
  • Pick stock from racking in line with shipping lists and transport to the correct location
  • Load transport vehicles in accordance with inventory requirements, ensuring drivers complete and return correct paperwork
  • Offload incoming goods, move them to the receiving area, and store them in line with the goods inwards process
  • Transport scrap items from containers to the scrap trailer, recording accurate weight information
  • Check inbound and outbound shipments for accuracy and damage, reporting any quality or quantity variances
  • Conduct daily inspections and minor maintenance on forklifts and other equipment, keeping accurate inspection records
  • Receive goods in, including deliveries
  • Safely store raw materials in racking and support stock rotation
  • Carry out monthly cycle counts on all goods and provide reports as required
  • Act as the first point of contact for warehouse-related queries and production support
  • Co-ordinate deliveries
  • Undertake regular trailer inspections and report/reject as necessary
  • Perform weekly racking inspections and report any issues
  • Provide cover and support to the production team when required
  • Foster effective communication, teamwork, and collaboration across departments
  • Correctly wear and maintain appropriate PPE at all times
Requirements
  • Forklift licence
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Background in factory operations, including loading/unloading goods and stock picking
  • Strong awareness of Health & Safety, with the ability to manage personal risk
