Job summary

GB Group in Hereford is seeking a warehouse operative to join our logistics team. You will receive deliveries, book stock, pick and prepare materials, and ensure safe storage and tidy areas.

The role requires forklift access, excellent computer skills, and strong organisation. You will monitor stock levels, issue items to new staff, coordinate vehicle servicing, and support site deliveries while upholding Health & Safety.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in warehouse/stores
• Forklift licence required or willingness to obtain IPAF
• Excellent computer skills with in-house software training
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail
• Proactive with ownership of responsibilities
• Ability to prioritise tasks and maintain a clean, safe environment

Responsibilities

• Receiving deliveries and booking stock into the warehouse
• Picking and preparing materials and kit for collection
• Ensuring stock and equipment are stored safely and correctly
• Keeping warehouse, yard and skip areas tidy and organised
• Monitoring stock levels and placing orders as required
• Issuing clothing, PPE, tools and equipment for new employees
• Assisting with return and recording of company equipment
• Coordinating vehicle servicing and MOTs for the fleet
• Supporting wider warehouse, fleet and logistics needs including site deliveries
• Following Health & Safety procedures and maintaining a safe working environment

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Receiving deliveries and accurately booking incoming stock and equipment into the warehouse.


• Picking and preparing materials, equipment and kit ready for collection by our trade colleagues.


• Ensuring stock and equipment are stored safely and in the correct locations.


• Keeping the warehouse, yard and skip areas clean, tidy and well organised at all times.


• Monitoring stock levels and ordering as required.


• Preparing and issuing clothing, PPE, tools and equipment for new employees, ensuring items issued are accurately recorded.


• Assisting with the return and recording of company equipment.


• Arranging and coordinating vehicle servicing and MOTs to ensure the fleet remains compliant and operational.


• Supporting the wider business with general warehouse, fleet and logistics requirements, which might include deliveries to sites.


• Following all company Health & Safety procedures and maintaining a safe working environment.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience of working within a warehouse / stores environment.


• Forklift licence. (IPAF licence desirable, or a willingness to obtain)


• Excellent computer skills. (training will be provided for our in-house software)


• Highly organised with good attention to detail.


• Proactive and willing to take ownership of their responsibilities.


• An ability to prioritise tasks.


• A commitment to maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.

Package:
