Job summary

BAKO Group Limited is seeking a Warehouse Operative to support unloading/loading vehicles and stock handling across ambient, freezer, and chilled departments.

Colleague will check goods inwards, monitor vehicle temperatures, and use MHE safely under the instruction of the shift supervisor. A counterbalance truck licence, strong communication, and flexibility are essential. We offer pension, sick pay, and holiday benefits.

Qualifications

• Warehouse experience required.
• Able to work in freezer, chilled & ambient departments.
• Must be flexible and have good communication.
• Counterbalance truck licence and MHE experience preferred.
• Health & safety training is desirable.
• Flexibility across shifts and duties.

Responsibilities

• Unloading/loading vehicles as directed by the shift supervisor.
• Accurate picking and collating stock in ambient, freezer and chiller departments.
• Check goods inwards and monitor vehicle temperatures.
• Operate handling equipment safely and competently.
• Carry out hygiene/maintenance tasks and other duties as assigned.
• Support efficient running of the warehouse and related areas.

Purpose of Job

Unloading/Loading Vehicles, booking in stock correctly from goods in & Collating/Picking Customer orders & all associated cleaning duties.

Main Duties

• To carry out given duties/instructions by shift supervisor
• Accurately picking and collating stock in all departments Ambient, Freezer & Chiller.
• Checking in goods inwards.
• Checking vehicle temperatures before loading/Unloading.
• Loading/Unloading of vehicles in line with given instructions.
• Use of mechanical handling equipment in daily duties in safe and competent manner.
• To carry out any hygiene/maintenance related duty, or any other task deemed appropriate by the manager/shift supervisor in any part of the site.
• These together with all other duties associated with the effective and efficient running of the Warehouse area and other related areas.

• Promptly report any hazards, unsafe practices, incidents, or near misses to your line manager or the Health & Safety team.
• Cooperate with management on all matters relating to health and safety, including attending mandatory training and following issued guidance or instructions.
• Use equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) properly and as instructed to minimise risk.
• Participate in risk assessments and contribute to the identification and control of workplace hazards.
• Support a culture of continuous improvement in workplace safety by actively engaging in health and safety initiatives and suggestions.
