Job summary

Manpower are seeking an experienced warehouse operative for immediate start at Castle Donington/East Midlands Gateway, initially until January 2027. Role involves scanning freight, stock control, WMS operations, pallet assembly and ensuring safety and accurate records. Monday–Friday, 08:15–16:15 with a 30-minute lunch.

Onsite parking and good transport links. Applicants should have at least 2 years in a warehouse role, reliable timekeeping, and an FLT licence would be advantageous; SwiftLOG

Qualifications

• Recent warehouse operative experience (min 2 years).
• Reliable, hardworking with good timekeeping.
• Possession of an FLT licence (counterbalance & REACH) would be advantageous.
• Experience using SwiftLOG (WMS) is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Scan freight during loading/unloading for accurate tracking and data integrity; verify paperwork and report discrepancies.
• Store freight in designated racking; perform stock control counts and pallet audits.
• Identify and handle hazardous consignments in line with safety regulations; report hazards promptly.
• Use WMS to pick, pack and ship products; assemble pallets per VAS instructions.

Job description

Manpower are seeking an experienced warehouse operative with an immediate start to work for our client based at Castle Donington/East Midlands Gateway, initially until end January 2027.

Main duties will include:

• Scan all freight during loading and unloading to maintain accurate tracking and inventory control. Verify that paperwork matches consignments and report any discrepancies promptly to maintain data integrity. Inspect incoming freight for damage or inadequate packaging and elevate issues to the Team Leader.
• Store freight in designated racking locations or zones, following WMS putaway logic to optimise space and accessibility. Conduct stock control activities including consumable counts, pallet audits, and cycle counts to support inventory accuracy. Replenish ground floor stock locations and operational equipment as required to maintain workflow continuity.
• Identify and handle hazardous consignments in compliance with safety regulations and company procedures. Report any unsafe freight conditions or potential hazards to the Team Leader immediately. Maintain a clean, safe, and organised warehouse and yard environment in line with health and safety standards.
• Use Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to pick, pack, and ship products accurately and efficiently. Assemble Groupage and Sandwich pallets according to customer-specific Value-Added Service (VAS) instructions to meet quality and presentation standards.
• Deliver excellent service to internal and external stakeholders by resolving issues proactively and maintaining a professional approach. Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and support a positive team culture.
• Accurately record working hours using the attendance register to ensure compliance with shift schedules and payroll accuracy. Receive and follow instructions from the Team Leader via internal systems, ensuring alignment with daily operational priorities.

• Previous experience in using SwiftLOG (Warehouse Management System) is desirable
