Job summary

William Wilson in Ayr is seeking a Warehouse Operative to handle picking and packing orders, unpack deliveries, and manage manual handling of heavy items in a fast-paced branch.

You will assist customers at the trade counter, make product recommendations, and respond to enquiries by phone or email. A full UK driving license is essential for occasional local deliveries during holidays, with working hours 40 per week, Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a busy warehouse environment.
• A positive attitude and a willingness to learn, including the completion of necessary training.
• Full UK manual driving license is essential.

Responsibilities

• General warehouse duties: picking/packing orders, unpacking deliveries, manual handling of heavy items.
• Assist customers at the trade counter with product recommendations.
• Handle customer enquiries via phone and email promptly and courteously.
• Deliver plumbing and heating supplies locally when the main driver is on holiday.

• General warehouse duties including picking & packing customer orders, unpacking and putting away deliveries which involves manual handling of heavy items e.g. boilers, sinks, radiators, and toilets and ensuring high standards are maintained in the branch


• Assisting customers at the trade counter by identifying their requirements and providing product recommendations


• Dealing with customer enquiries via phone & email promptly and courteously, with a proactive attitude


• Delivering plumbing and heating supplies to our customers in the local area when the main driver is on holiday

This is a full time, permanent role working 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday between 08:00am - 5.00pm.
