Reporting to the Warehouse Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the smooth and efficient running of the tasks across the warehouse dayshift operation. You will also be responsible for the management and development of the team ensuring that the departmental and depot targets are met. Effective team deployment and development is vital to ensure the warehouse operation provides the highest levels of operational efficiencies, service excellence and productivity within the business.
All warehouse assets need to be closely controlled to keep costs to a minimum and you will work closely with operations and central colleagues to ensure internal service standards are as high as external ones. Your success will be measured in the achievement of these service standards, as well as commercial objectives covering cost and stock‑loss control, product availability, credit reduction and a wide range of people factors such as training and attendance.
We are looking for someone with a positive attitude, commitment and a desire to drive improvements. You will also be an excellent planner and communicator. You will need to be up to date and compliant with all health & safety and food hygiene legislation. You will be used to working to targets and will have an accurate and methodical approach to your work.
