Job summary

TeamJobs are recruiting for an experienced Warehouse Manager to join a well-established Poole-based food distribution business. The role is twilight shift with 10-16 staff, ensuring orders are picked and ready for morning deliveries.

This is a hands-on management position that requires leading from the front, maintaining high standards, and supporting the operation while ensuring health & safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience managing twilight/night shift in a busy warehouse.
• Experience leading 10-16 staff in a warehouse/distribution environment.
• Experience with inventory, despatch deadlines and accuracy.
• Knowledge of health & safety standards and housekeeping.
• Experience with warehouse technology/tools is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Own the twilight warehouse operation.
• Lead and motivate a team of 10–16 Warehouse Operatives.
• Ensure orders are picked and ready for despatch by 2:00am.
• Manage performance, attendance, productivity and standards.
• Work hands-on with the team when required.
• Manage rotas, reviews, recruitment, investigations and disciplinaries.
• Monitor picking accuracy and warehouse efficiency.
• Support the move to handheld scanners and new processes.
• Collaborate with Warehouse and Transport teams for smooth handover.
• Maintain high standards of health & safety and housekeeping.

Warehouse Manager - Twilight Shift - Poole - 34,000- 40,000

TeamJobs are recruiting for an experienced Warehouse Manager to join a well-established, family-run food distribution business in Poole.

This is a great opportunity for a hands-on Warehouse Manager who enjoys leading from the front. You'll have ownership of the twilight operation, managing a team of 10-16 people and making sure everything is picked, packed and ready for the first deliveries of the morning.

This isn't a desk-based management role. We're looking for someone who can lead the team, hold high standards and get stuck in when needed.

Hours & Salary

• 34,000- 40,000 per annum

• 5:00pm-2:30am

• 45 hours per week

• Sunday-Friday, with one night off each week

What you'll be doing

• Taking ownership of the twilight warehouse operation

• Leading and motivating a team of 10-16 Warehouse Operatives

• Ensuring orders are picked accurately and ready for despatch by 2:00am

• Managing performance, attendance, productivity and standards

• Working hands-on with the team when required

• Managing rotas, reviews, recruitment, investigations and disciplinaries

• Monitoring picking accuracy and warehouse efficiency

• Supporting the move from paper pick lists to handheld scanners

• Working closely with Warehouse and Transport teams to ensure a smooth handover

• Maintaining high standards of health & safety and housekeeping

What we're looking for

• Warehouse management, shift management or supervisory experience

• Experience leading teams in a busy warehouse/distribution environment

• Previous night or twilight shift experience

• Confident people management skills - you'll need to be comfortable having difficult conversations and holding standards

• A hands-on approach and willingness to support the operation

• Experience with warehouse systems, scanners or process improvements would be beneficial

• Food, FMCG, chilled, frozen or short shelf-life experience would be a great advantage

• Counterbalance/Reach Forklift licence advantageous - training can be provided
