Job summary

TradeChoice Carpet & Flooring Ltd is seeking a Warehouse Manager for our Manchester branch. You will lead day-to-day warehouse operations, ensuring goods-in, storage, picking and dispatch are efficient, safe and accurate. You will drive performance, support your team and uphold excellent service standards for customers.

Ideal candidates have a proven supervisory background, strong stock control knowledge and experience with WMS and reporting tools, plus a commitment to Health & Safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a Warehouse Manager or supervisory role.
• Experience managing warehouse operations against service, productivity and budget targets.
• Strong knowledge of stock control and inventory management.
• Experience using WMS and reporting tools.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and warehouse compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all warehouse activities, including goods-in, storage, picking and dispatch.
• Organise the safe and efficient receipt, storage and movement of stock to support operations and customer demand.
• Meet service, productivity and budget targets while maintaining high standards.
• Deliver reliable and professional service to internal and external customers.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and controls.
• Coach and develop warehouse colleagues into a multi-skilled team.
• Ensure health & safety compliance and HASAW requirements.
• Oversee maintenance and safe operation of warehouse equipment including FLTs.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and best practices in the warehouse.
• Develop and monitor KPIs to drive performance improvements.
• Collaborate with Sales, Transport and Procurement for excellent service.
• Monitor service levels, costs and budgets to hit targets.
• Conduct operational reviews and implement improvements.
• Ensure orders are cut, packed and prepared for timely delivery or collection.
• Foster consistency and operational excellence across activities.
• Address building maintenance and liaise with contractors as required.

The role

As the Warehouse Manager at our Manchester branch, you'll be responsible for leading the day-to-day operation of the warehouse, making sure products are received, stored, picked and dispatched efficiently, safely and accurately. You'll play a key role in driving operational performance, supporting your team and maintaining excellent service standards for our customers.

What you'll be doing

As a member of our branch team, you'll be responsible for:

• Leading and managing all warehouse activities, including goods-in, storage, picking and dispatch.
• Organising the safe and efficient receipt, storage and movement of stock to support business operations and customer demand.
• Making sure warehouse operations are managed efficiently while achieving agreed service, productivity and budgetary targets.
• Delivering a reliable and professional service to both internal and external customers.
• Making sure stock is controlled accurately and inventory records are maintained.
• Managing, coaching and developing warehouse colleagues, creating a multi-skilled team capable of adapting to changing business needs.
• Maintaining a strong health and safety culture and to ensure compliance with all legal, company and HASAW requirements.
• Overseeing the maintenance and safe operation of warehouse equipment, including FLTs.
• Driving continuous improvement initiatives, operational change programmes and the adoption of warehouse best practices.
• Developing and monitoring warehouse productivity, efficiency and service KPIs to drive performance improvements.
• Working closely with colleagues across Sales, Transport and Procurement to ensure excellent customer service.
• Monitoring warehouse service level performance, costs and budgets to make sure agreed targets are achieved.
• Conducting regular operational reviews and implementing improvements where required.
• Maing sure customer orders are cut, packed and prepared accurately for timely delivery or collection.
• Fostering consistency, professionalism and operational excellence across all warehouse activities
• Resolving the building maintenance and facilities issues, liaising with contractors and service providers as required.
  

Who we're looking for

We're looking for a confident people leader with strong warehouse operational experience and a passion for delivering excellent results.

You’ll ideally have:

• Previous experience in a Warehouse Manager or supervisory warehouse role.
• Proven experience managing warehouse operations against service, productivity and budget targets.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, stock control and inventory management.
• Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and operational reporting tools.
• A strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation and warehouse compliance requirements.
• Experience implementing process improvements and driving operational efficiencies.
• Excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills.
• Experience developing teams, coaching colleagues and building a flexible, multi-skilled workforce.
• The ability to analyse performance data and use KPIs to drive continuous improvement.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• A Forklift, Reach or Counterbalance licence (or willingness to obtain one).
• IOSH, NEBOSH or a similar health and safety qualification (desirable).
• Experience within a distribution, flooring, construction or related environment (desirable).

42.5 hours pw: 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. with a 1-hour break, working Monday to Friday.
