Job summary

Contract Furniture Manufacturing Ltd in Castleford is seeking a Warehouse / Despatch Operative to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis.

You will load and unload vehicles, pick and pack orders with a handheld scanner, check paperwork for accuracy, and maintain a tidy, safe warehouse. Monday to Friday, 8am–4:30pm, with a discretionary bonus and 23 days holiday plus bank holidays.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a warehouse or despatch role is preferred
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems and hand-held scanners
• Basic understanding of health and safety regulations in a warehouse environment
• Experience in quality control and assurance processes

Responsibilities

• Loading/ unloading vehicles; physically fit to handle heavy items
• Picking & packing orders using a handheld scanner
• Wrapping items with care
• Checking outgoing items against paperwork for accuracy and labeling
• Quality checking items before loading to prevent damage
• Cleaning and maintaining the warehouse daily

As a forward-thinking company with ambitious plans for the future, we are looking for talented and enthusiastic individuals to join our team, helping us grow and evolve together.

Due to our continued growth, we require a Warehouse / Despatch Operative to join us on a full-time, permanent basis at our warehouse in Castleford.

Working Hours:

Monday – Friday 8am – 4.30pm

Responsibilities:

Loading/ unloading vehicles – You must be physically fit as you will be required to load and unload furniture, some items can be heavy

• Picking & Packing orders using a hand-held scanner
• Wrapping items with care
• Check all items that are going out against paperwork to make sure all items are there and are labelled correctly
• Quality check items before loading to ensure they are not damaged
• Cleaning and maintaining the warehouse will also be part of the daily routine

Knowledge and Experience Required:

Previous experience in a warehouse or despatch role is preferred

• Familiarity with warehouse management systems and hand-held scanners
• Basic understanding of health and safety regulations in a warehouse environment
• Experience in quality control and assurance processes
