Job summary

Wynnstay Group PLC is seeking an Agricultural Warehouse Assistant at our busy Tregaron store. This role focuses on efficient operations and high-quality service for farmers in a rural community.

The ideal candidate will have manual handling experience, be capable of forklift operation, and demonstrate strong customer service and independence. The role supports a values-led organisation with opportunities during a period of growth.

Qualifications

  • Physically demanding manual handling anticipated.
  • Current Counterbalance Forklift Licence or equivalent.
  • Experience in warehouse, yard or distribution environment.
  • Safe forklift operation training/ability to complete training.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Picking orders, stock checks, and paperwork batching.
  • Load customer orders into vehicles and prepare farm deliveries.
  • Deal with customers face to face professionally.
  • Organise and store incoming goods; identify stock anomalies.
  • Store chemicals and hazardous goods correctly.
  • Operate a forklift in line with Health & Safety standards.
  • Assist with Health & Safety tasks, COSHH compliance, and spill clean-up.

Job description

Wynnstay Group is seeking a motivated and experienced Agricultural Warehouse Assistant at our busy Tregaron store, ensuring efficient operations and exceptional service for our valued farmer customers.

This is a fantastic opportunity to take the helm of a well-established and respected store at the heart of a rural community. If you bring a passion for agriculture, strong leadership skills, and a proven background in retail management, you’ll play a key role in driving performance during an exciting period of growth and transformation for Wynnstay.

Responsibilities:
  • Picking orders, recording and checking stock, collating paperwork, yard picking
  • Loading customers orders directly into their vehicles and preparing order to be delivered directly to farms
  • Dealing with customers face to face in a professional manner
  • Placing all incoming goods in an organised and efficient manner, and identifying stock anomalies and taking appropriate action
  • Storing chemicals and hazardous goods in the correct manner
  • Operating a forklift truck whilst adhering to requisite Health and Safety standards
  • Participating in any duties in the interests of Health & Safety, including COSHH compliance, Spillage clean-up, and safe manual handling.
What we’re looking for:
  • Ability to undertake a physically demanding, manual-handling role
  • Willingness to operate a forklift safely and complete training if not already licensed
  • Self-motivated, reliable and able to work independently
  • Good customer service and communication skills
  • Current Counterbalance Forklift Licence or similar qualification
  • Previous agricultural knowledge or experience
  • Experience working in a warehouse, yard or distribution environment
