Job summary

IKEA Birmingham are seeking Warehouse Assistants for nightshift roles at our Birmingham (Wednesbury) site. The job is part-time, 30 hours per week, and includes night allowances. You will be active through your shift, ensuring goods are correctly received, picked, packed and stocked.

The role involves working 22:00–07:00 with an hourly rate of £13.45 plus forklift allowance (£1.50) and nightshift uplift (£2.25). Benefits include IKEA discounts and pension support.

Qualifications

• Previous warehouse and MHE experience is preferred but not essential.
• Must be able to stay on top of tasks in a fast-moving environment.
• Able to manage workload solo and with a team.

Responsibilities

• Receiving goods with accuracy, picking and packing orders, unloading and loading of trailers and keeping accurate stock records.
• Manual handling of heavy stock.
• Operating forklift trucks and other equipment safely.
• Adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.

WHAT WE OFFER

• Start Date of employment : 12th of September 2026
• Competitive hourly rate of £13.45 with an additional forklift allowance of £1.50 an hour
• Additional nightshift allowance of £2.25 an hour between the hours of 22:00pm - 06:00am
• 30 hours per week working 5 days over 7 with weekend working required
  Working between the hours of 22:00pm – 07:00am

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO HAVE

• Previous warehouse and MHE experience is preferred but not essential, all you will need is the motivation to make things happen where tasks move quickly
• The ability of staying on top of things—quick to prioritise, organised, and always tuned in to the little details that make a big difference
• Be able to manage your own workload and stay motivated, ready to contribute both solo and with our team
• Due to health and safety regulations all applicants must be over the age of 18

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY

• Receiving goods with accuracy, picking and packing orders, unloading and loading of trailers and keeping accurate records of stock levels
• Manual Handling of heavy stock
• Working with or around heavy machinery, such as, Forklift trucks, counterbalance, pump trucks, to safely and efficiently transport heavy goods within the warehouse
• Ensure all safety protocols and regulations are followed for a secure environment for our co-workers

Training will be provided.
