Job summary

EDF Energy Limited at Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater, is seeking a Warehouse and Logistics Manager to lead all warehouse, materials, stores and logistics activities to safely and efficiently support the project. You will drive cost-effective material delivery and maintain excellent inventory control.

You will forecast demand, coordinate procurement, manage deliveries, and liaise with construction, procurement and management teams to minimise risks and maximise uptime.

Qualifications

  • Level 3-5 qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics, Warehousing.
  • HNC/HND in Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, Construction Management, or similar.
  • ILM Level 3 to5 in Leadership & Management.
  • CILT (Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport) qualification.

  • Develop and implement warehouse, materials management and logistics processes.

We are currently seeking a Warehouse and Logistics Manager here to join our team in Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater, here to lead and manage all warehouse, materials, stores and logistics operations, ensuring the safe, efficient and cost-effective delivery of materials and equipment to support business and project objectives. Accountable for inventory control, logistics performance, resource planning, supplier coordination and continuous improvement activities, the role drives operational excellence, compliance and stakeholder satisfaction while supporting successful project delivery

What will you be doing?
  • Lead and manage warehouse personnel and subcontractors, ensuring safe working practices, high productivity and compliance with project requirements.
  • Develop and implement warehouse, materials management and logistics processes.
  • Take ownership of site inventory, stock control and material traceability, ensuring accuracy and availability of critical project materials.
  • Forecast material demand and coordinate procurement activities to support programme milestones and minimise schedule risks.
  • Expedite purchase requisitions and purchase orders, working closely with procurement teams and suppliers to ensure timely material availability.
  • Manage delivery schedules, goods receipt, inspections, and material distribution across multiple work fronts.
  • Coordinate site logistics strategies, material movements, storage solutions, and resource planning to maximise operational efficiency.
  • Maintain compliance records for calibrated equipment, tools and certification requirements.
  • Act as the primary interface between construction, procurement, suppliers, and project management teams on all material-related matters.
  • Proactively identify and resolve material shortages, delivery issues,and supply chain risks to prevent impact to project progress.
Key outputs:
  • Ensure the efficient receipt, storage, control and distribution of all materials, equipment and project assets.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and material traceability, ensuring stock accuracy and availability to support project delivery.
  • Manage non-conformances, shortages and damaged goods, ensuring timely resolution and escalation where required.
  • Lead and coordinate all warehouse, stores and logistics activities to ensure materials are available when required.
  • Optimise storage, handling and transportation processes to maximise efficiency, minimise risk and reduce costs.
  • Coordinate site deliveries and logistics activities with internal supply chain teams, project stakeholders and external providers.
  • Ensure warehouse and storage operations comply with all Health & Safety, environmental, quality and project requirements.
  • Maintain warehouse facilities, equipment, lifting assets and associated inspection, certification and maintenance records.
  • Ensure effective document control, material records management and project archiving requirements are maintained.
  • Lead, develop and manage warehouse personnel and subcontractors, ensuring resources are aligned with project requirements.
  • Drive a culture of safety, accountability, continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Monitor performance, establish priorities and ensure delivery against business and project objectives.
  • Process Improvement & Governance
  • Develop, implement and continuously improve warehouse, materials management and logistics procedures.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, inventory control, customer service and cost performance.

Training and Development Expectations:
Educational basics
  • Level 3-5 qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics, Warehousing (Essential)
  • HNC/HND in Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, Construction Management, or similar (Desirable)
  • ILM Level 3 to5 in Leadership & Management. (Desirable)
  • CILT (Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport) qualification.(Desirable)
Professional basics
  • Previous experience of MS Office, Asset management, Experience of working on Large Construction projects in an international context,
  • CITB HSE Test Supervisors

  • Knowledge of SAP storage management module
  • Experienced Forklift Driver / Overhead Travelling Crane Driver / Rigger, Basic mechanical and electrical storage knowledge.
