Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Ward Sister/Charge Nurse to join Mersea Ward at East Suffolk North Essex Foundation Trust, based at Colchester Hospital.

We are looking for a highly motivated nurse who is passionate about patient care to join our well-established nursing team in delivering a 24/7 service. The successful candidate will work collaboratively to develop our future services.

You will need excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work confidently across professional boundaries.

This role is a Fixed Term/Secondment to cover Maternity Leave from 4th August 2025 to 3rd August 2026.

  1. As a Sister/Charge Nurse, you will manage a Clinical Specialist Team of registered nurses and healthcare assistants, contributing to the Trust's quality and governance agenda.
  2. You will collaborate with other Sisters/Charge Nurses to ensure cohesive management and effective service delivery.
  3. Applicants must have an understanding of the current health agenda and national guidance that informs critical care practice.
