Job summary

Harrogate District Hospital on Byland Ward is recruiting a Band 6 Ward Sister/Charge Nurse on a permanent, part-time basis. The post is suitable for an experienced nurse ready to take on leadership and management responsibilities and to motivate a team.

You will provide professional, clinical and managerial leadership to nursing staff, ensuring the highest standards of care and a positive patient experience. Training of junior staff and effective teamwork are also key components.

Qualifications

• Experience as a nurse at Band 5 level or equivalent and readiness for a leadership role.
• Ability to motivate a team and provide professional and clinical leadership.
• Strong communication skills with patients, families and multidisciplinary teams.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 6 Ward Sister/Charge Nurse position on Byland Ward at Harrogate District Hospital.

We have a friendly and supportive multidisciplinary team and together we are dedicated in providing the highest standards of care to patients who are frail and acutely unwell.

30 hours per week

Main duties of the job

The post is suitable for an experienced band 5 or equivalent who feels that they are ready for a new challenge and is able to motivate a team.

The post holder will need to be able to provide professional, clinical, and managerial leadership to nursing staff within the Ward and have responsibility for maintaining the highest standards of care for patients in the Ward setting, ensuring patients have a positive experience.

The applicant would need to have good communication skills and be able to work closely with patients and families/carers to provide specialist nursing and care.

Be able to work as an effective member of the multidisciplinary team, providing high-quality nursing care for patients to aid them through their acute illness and through the rehabilitation process.

To assist in the training of junior staff and students and act as a role model.
