Job description

Are you an experienced Registered Nurse that is ready for the next step in your career? If so, we would like to hear from you.

We are looking for a forward-thinking dynamic nurse to join us on our acute medical ward (Ward L7). Our chosen candidate will require strong leadership skills to work within our team.

We are a 24-bedded ward, specializing in acute general medicine, diabetes, and endocrine disorders. The ward has patients with a variety of clinical presentations and conditions, ranging from respiratory, gastrointestinal, and cardiology conditions, with patients usually being admitted directly from our Emergency Assessment Unit.

The successful applicant will need to have an abundance of post-registration experience. They will need to be able to work calmly under pressure and lead a team and deputies in the absence of the ward manager.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Experience in medicine, with relevant Acute experience
  2. Awareness of National Standards / Guidelines to the area
  3. Autonomous decision making
  4. Excellent time management and organisational skills
  5. Highly effective communication - with staff, patients, wider networks
  6. Good team worker
  7. Able to demonstrate initiative
  8. Strong MDT skills
  9. IT skills applicable to the role

You must be able to motivate staff to achieve high standards of care and possess excellent communication skills to ensure that the aims of the Trust are achieved.
