The post holder will be expected to lead a shift safely and effectively, deputise and take direct managerial responsibility for the clinical area in the absence of or as delegated by the senior sister/unit co-ordinator. The post holder will provide clinical supervision to other members of staff, students and may undertake research and clinical audits in the unit.
As a senior member of staff, you will be expected to support and supervise staff and students in the department and act as a role model for others. You will be expected to uphold high standards of care and maintain a safe and effective service in line with the NMC Code and the Trust values
To provide safe, high-quality care to patients in the perioperative environment: admitting patients pre-operatively, communicating closely with the theatre team, recovering patients (post-PACU), and safely discharging patients.
