Job summary

HCRG Care Group is seeking a Band 5 Ward Nurse to join the Harty Ward team at Sheppey Community Hospital in Sheerness. You will provide patient centered care in a supportive environment, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to aid recovery and independence.

The role offers NHS Agenda for Change Band 5 terms, preceptorship for newly qualified nurses, and opportunities for professional development within a culture that values ideas and innovation.

As a Band 5 Ward Nurse, you will join our friendly and supportive team on Harty Ward at Sheppey Community Hospital. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to patients as they recover, rehabilitate and regain independence. We currently have one part time position available at 22.5 hours per week.

Main Responsibilities

In this role, you will deliver high quality, patient centered care on a busy but supportive community hospital ward . You will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care, ensuring patients receive safe and effective treatment throughout their stay. You will play a key role in supporting patients with their rehabilitation and recovery, encouraging independence and helping them prepare to return home or to a more independent setting . This is a varied and rewarded role where you will see the direct impact of your care. Working closely with the wider multidisciplinary team, you will communicate effectively, contribute to care planning and ensure a positive experience for patients and their families. Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering safe, effective and compassionate patient care

This is a 24 hour service, so flexibility to work a range of shifts including nights and weekends is essential.

Person Specification
  • Registered Nurse with a valid NMC pin
  • A passion for delivering high quality patient centered care
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Confidence using IT systems, including Microsoft Office
  • Experience within a ward or community hospital setting
  • An interest in rehabilitation and supporting patients to regain independence
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary team environment
