The Departmental Nurse Manager is responsible for providing operational, clinical and professional leadership to the nursing team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, efficient and safe patient care within the Emergency Department.
Key responsibilities include leading, supervising and supporting the nursing workforce to deliver excellent standards of emergency care in line with evidence-based practice, national standards and clinical guidelines. The post holder will promote a positive, collaborative and supportive working environment that encourages effective communication, teamwork and continuous professional development.
The Departmental Nurse Manager will also play a key role in workforce planning, recruitment and retention, ensuring the department is appropriately staffed to meet service demands. Working closely with the multidisciplinary team, they will drive quality improvement initiatives, support performance management and contribute to the achievement of departmental, organisational and national objectives.
