Job summary

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Ward Manager for the Children's Burns Ward at Broomfield Hospital. The role is full-time, Band 7, with a fixed-term contract of 12 months ending 24/10/2027.

The ward focuses on high-quality pediatric burns care within a renowned regional service, requiring leadership and clinical excellence. Responsibilities include staff coordination, mentoring, and delivering patient-centered care in a family-friendly environment.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate substantial relevant experience in a relevant clinical setting at band 6 level.
• Experience in mentoring, assessing, coaching.
• Experience of change management.
• Leading a team with excellent personal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent patient care to children and families in line with best practice recommendations for children's hospital services.
• Lead, coordinate and supervise shift and staff; mentor juniors.
• Empower patients and promote health education and prevention of ill health.
• Manage people within allocated budget to ensure ward/dept efficiency.
• Embed Clinical Governance to maintain high standards of care.
