Main duties of the job

1. Be proactive in promoting & ensuring that the Ethos, Mission, Vision and core values of the company are upheld.
2. Ensure that personnel within their designated area of responsibility work in accordance with the policy and ethos of the company.
3. Ensure that all nursing staff adhere to professional code of conduct and operate within the scope of practice.
4. Ensure that any concerns for the safety and welfare of clients are reported in a timely manner.

The Ward Manager is responsible and accountable for the provision of clinical and professional leadership, nursing management and continuous professional development in area of responsibility.

With 31 beds across two locked rehabilitation wards and nine semi-independent flats, we offer a supportive and structured environment in which every individual can work towards their recovery goals.

Job responsibilities

Main duties of the role:

1. Leadership & Accountability
2. Assist the Registered Manager in the day-to-day management of designated areas.
3. Keep the Registered Manager fully informed regarding issues within designated area of responsibility.
4. Assist the Registered Manager in leading and managing interdisciplinary care for service users in area of responsibility.
5. In conjunction with Registered Manager, empower staff through coaching, education, supervision.
6. Assist the Registered Manager in leading the nursing and MDT through regular team meetings.
7. Enable staff to identify and suggest improvement initiatives.
8. Assist the Registered Manager in ensuring high standards of care in daily service operations through visible leadership and daily monitoring of clinical care.
9. Use a consultative and approachable management style.
10. Ensure all staff practice within their professional scope of practice.
11. Deputise for the Registered Manager when required.

Qualifications
