Service/Ward/Department Summary:

Summers is a 11 bedded Organic Assessment Ward within Older People’s Services for Tameside & Glossop which is situated in the Etherow Building at Tameside Hospital.

Role Summary:

An opportunity has arisen in Older Peoples Mental Health Services at Tameside General Hospital for an enthusiastic, self motivated Band 7 Ward Managers role.

The post holder will have the responsibility for overseeing the assessment treatment and delivery of care to patients within Older Adults Services and provide a high standard of nursing care to patients. This will be in partnership with other members of the multidisciplinary team. The post holder will have responsibilities for supporting the team through clinical and management supervision.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities of the Post:

• The post holder will be responsible for the ward budget and ensuring that this is monitored in conjunction with the Service Manager & the Finance department. They will be involved in forecasting for the year ahead and being involved in assessing the impact on service delivery.
• Work with the wider health care teams to enable a multidisciplinary/multi-agency team approach to care to be adopted with the involvement of the Transfer Team.
