Job summary

Berry Recruitment Group is seeking Ward Hosts to support a hospital in Swindon. You will prepare and serve meals, assist with hygiene, and help maintain ward cleanliness according to NHS protocols.

The role requires previous experience in a similar setting and a DBS check. Shifts include 4-on-4-off 1.30pm-8pm or 5/7 days 1pm-7.30pm; long-term ongoing positions with £16.41 per hour.

Job description

Berry Recruitment are currently recruiting for Ward Hosts to work at a hospital based in Swindon.

The Ward Host plays a dual role by maintaining hygienic environments and serving food and beverages to patients in accordance with dietary requirements and Trust protocols.

Key accountabilities

• Prepare and distribute patient meals/snacks and hot/cold beverages.
• Work collaboratively with nursing and ward staff to ensure cleaning schedules are coordinated with patient care needs.
• Liaise with ward staff to ensure patient dietary needs, allergies, and preferences are adhered to.
• Clean patient areas, including bed spaces, bathrooms, kitchens, and communal areas to NHS cleaning standards.
• Record food temperatures and fridge logs as per policy.
• Clean clinical and non-clinical areas including wards, toilets, corridors, waiting areas, offices, and treatment rooms.
• Undertake scheduled deep cleans, including isolation rooms and high-risk areas.

Hours and Pay

We have two shifts patterns available, either 4 on 4 off 1.30pm- 8pm or working 5 out of 7 days a week 1pm- 7.30pm.

The hourly rate for this role is £16.41.

These are long term, ongoing positions.

To be considered for this role you must have previous experience in a similar role and be willing to undergo a DBS.
