Job summary

Stockport NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Distribution and Ward Based Pharmacy Support Worker (Band 2) to join the inpatient pharmacy team at Stepping Hill Hospital, Stockport. The role requires accuracy, the ability to work independently or in a team, and strong patient-focused service across wards.

You will receive medications, manage stock, and handle queries from internal and external customers while adhering to local and national guidelines.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 2 in pharmacy services.
• Experience working in an NHS hospital environment.
• Experience of ward based pharmacy work.
• Demonstrates a flexible working approach.
• Good time keeping.

Responsibilities

• Receive and distribute medications accurately, following local and national procedures using pharmacy specific software.
• Stock control and medication expiry date checking, including identifying cost savings.
• Answer stock queries from internal and external customers, maintaining confidentiality.
• Complete ward stock top ups accurately.
