Job summary

NHS Jobs is seeking a Bank Clinical Support Worker to assist in welcoming patients and orientating them within the ward environment. You will report changes in patient conditions to the registered practitioner and provide essential support to clinical staff.

You will participate in emergencies, assist with transfers, and help maintain patient hygiene and dignity. The role requires effective communication with patients, relatives and healthcare teams, while adhering to infection prevention

Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare environments preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly with patients, relatives and staff.
• Willingness to participate in emergencies and rapid response situations.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and orientate patients, carers, relatives and visitors to the ward.
• Report changes in patients' physical or psychological needs to the registered practitioner.
• Support the registered practitioner and other team members as required.
• Assist in emergencies (e.g., cardiac arrest, patient falls, deteriorating patients).
• Assist in patient transfer/escort within scope of practice.
• Maintain patient hygiene and assist with basic care (washing, dressing, skin care, oral care, etc.).
• Record and monitor dietary and fluid intake; report concerns to registered practitioners.
• Support infection prevention and control practices and use of PPE.
• Assist with equipment preparation and safe handling for patient movement.
• Assist with stocking, delivery checks, and stock rotation in clinical areas.
