The Thornbury Hospital in Sheffield, part of Circle Health Group, is seeking a Healthcare Assistant (Bank) to join its wards team on an as-and-when-required basis. The role involves assisting patients with personal care, mobility, eating and monitoring basic observations after training, while ensuring compassionate, patient-centered care.

Applicants should have care experience, strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.

Qualifications

• Experience in a care or health support setting.
• Good communication and compassionate manner.
• Ability to follow instructions and escalate concerns.
• Basic literacy, numeracy and IT skills.

Responsabilités

• Assist patients with personal care and mobility while respecting dignity.
• Support eating, drinking and documenting intake as needed.
• Provide comfort and emotional support to patients and relatives.
• Record routine observations after training (bp, pulse, temp, etc).
• Assist with basic wound care setup and catheter care as directed.
• Prepare clinical areas and equipment for patient use.
• Collaborate with nurses, doctors, therapists and admin teams to support patient care.
