Job description

Join the team at Dunnock View (application submitted subject to CQC registration) as a WardClerk and enjoy a career where you will be valued and supported in everything you do.

Working alongside the multidisciplinary team, you will provide day-to-day administrative support for the wards, including updating service users' information, managing the ward diary, updating service users' timetables, and minute taking.

As a WardClerk, you will be responsible for arranging meetings and typing up all correspondence and documentation.

As a WardClerk you will be:

  • Supporting the admin team with general administration and providing clerical and typing duties
  • Using information technology to produce various documents and electronic information
  • Managing, organising, and updating relevant data using database applications including electronic rostering systems
  • Maintaining and updating filing and record-keeping systems
  • Updating information (primary nurse lists, ward posters, etc.)
  • Answering and directing calls as required
  • Assisting wards as required, e.g., typing duties, stationery, recording of service user medical appointments, liaising with the ward to ensure ward diary/shared calendar entries are updated/corresponded with

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • The ability to respond to changes in service / adaptable / open to change
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • The ability to organise and prioritise your own work within established procedures but refer more complex issues to the relevant manager

Communications will be with service users as well as with other staff, and will regularly require some judgement, as information will need to be gathered to facilitate correct administrative records. The role may occasionally involve challenging situations.

Where you will be working:

Be part of a new team at this 42-bed service, providing treatment for men and women who may have suffered trauma and are affected by mental health disorders.

A trauma-informed care model is used to focus on length of stay to ensure individuals can move as quickly and safely as possible from the service to the most appropriate and least restrictive environment for them.

Service users could be suffering from acute mental illness, psychosis, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, personality disorder, dual diagnosis, self-harm, or substance misuse issues.
