Ward Clerk Position at Ward 31

We require a ward clerk to join our team to provide a full administrative and clerical service to clinical and nursing staff within Ward 31, supporting the provision of direct patient care and treatment.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  1. Up-to-date computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office packages, email management, and stock ordering.
  2. Previous clerical/administration experience, preferably within a hospital setting.
  3. Physical ability to lift, handle casenote folders, and perform bending and stretching to retrieve or load/unload case note trolleys.
  4. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with good prioritization and organizational skills.
  5. Excellent communication skills, maintaining a calm, approachable, and professional manner when interacting with patients, relatives, and staff.
  6. Responsible and efficient telephone skills, with effective listening abilities to relay information accurately to nursing and clinical staff.
  7. Confidence to manage the day-to-day workload in a busy ward environment.
