Job summary

Qualifications

• Pharmacy Services Level 3 (BTEC/NVQ) or equivalent.
• Level 3 accuracy checking qualification (ACPT).
• Level 4 medicines management qualification or equivalent, or working towards.

Responsibilities

• Provide a ward-based medicines management service.
• Undertake medicines reconciliation.
• Counsel patients on their medicines.
• Prepare medicines for discharge.
• Initiate supplies of medication.
• Dispense and accuracy check stock, inpatient and outpatient medicines.
• Support and supervise trainee technicians, assistants and pharmacy support staff when required.
• Provide staff support, training and guidance under the direction of a senior member of staff.
