Job summary

Barking Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust in London’s North East region is seeking a Band 2 Ward Assistant to support the Ward team in the People’s Assessment Unit (CYPAU). You will help with non-clinical duties, stock control, meals, and ensuring a clean, welcoming environment for children and families.

Under the Ward Manager, you will help maintain records, assist with infection prevention, and contribute to a safe, patient-centred ward.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff and multidisciplinary team on ward
• Maintain stock levels, order/rotate supplies, report equipment and catering issues
• Prepare patient meals and communicate dietary requirements
• Support patient experience initiatives, signage and displays to maintain a welcoming ward
• Maintain ward records and ensure infection prevention practices and hand hygiene
