Job summary

Portman Recruitment is recruiting two Waking Night Residential Support Workers to join a well-established provider of residential care for children and young people in Southport. You will work within a small two-bed children's home supporting young people aged 7-17 who may have emotional and behavioural difficulties.

Previous experience is not essential as comprehensive training will be provided. We are looking for dependable, caring and resilient people who can create a safe and supportive

Qualifications

• No formal qualifications or previous experience are required.
• Driving licence is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Supporting and safeguarding young people throughout the night.
• Maintaining a calm, safe and welcoming home environment.
• Completing regular welfare and safety checks.
• Responding appropriately to incidents, concerns or emergencies.
• Supporting young people who may wake or require reassurance during the night.
• Following individual care plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures.
• Completing accurate handovers, records and incident reports.
• Undertaking light household duties to ensure the home is ready for the following day.
• Working closely with colleagues and contributing to a consistent approach to care.
• Promoting the dignity, independence and wellbeing of every young person.

Salary: £27,750 per annum, plus overtime
Hours: Waking nights, 8:00pm-8:00am
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Experience: No previous care experience required
Driving licence: Desirable but not essential

No formal qualifications or previous experience are required.

A full UK driving licence is desirable but not essential. Following successful completion of probation, the employer may be able to support eligible employees with driving lessons through a company loan arrangement.
