Job summary

The National Autistic Society is seeking a Waking Night Support Worker for Hoylands House in Barnsley, South Yorkshire. You will support seven residents with autism, following individual support plans and routines to help them live their best lives.

The role requires flexibility, evening and weekend work, and a driving licence (minimum one year) is preferred. Benefits include pension, generous leave, training, discounts, private health options, and 24/7 support. Agencies need not apply.

Qualifications

• Inspiration to support vulnerable people with a proactive approach.
• Experience with autistic people is helpful but not essential.
• Personal experience or a passion for helping others is welcome.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care (bathing, dressing, eating).
• Encourage activities they enjoy (swimming, hiking, arts & crafts).
