Job summary

CareTech is recruiting a Waking Night Support Worker to join our Bromsgrove service, supporting young people with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health needs. This role involves building relationships, managing emotional distress, and following PBS plans to promote independence and wellbeing.

We offer full training, a structured induction, and progression opportunities. This is a rota-based, full-time position with a salary paid at an hourly rate.

Qualifications

• Willingness to work towards a Health and Social Care qualification.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work unsociable hours on a rota basis.
• Commitment to safeguarding and person-centred practice.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, person-centred support in line with individual plans.
• Build trusting and professional relationships.
• Support individuals during periods of emotional distress.
• Follow Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plans.
• Assist with daily living skills and personal care (where required).
• Promote independence, dignity, and wellbeing.
• Support with appointments, activities, and community access.
• Maintain accurate records and work effectively within a team.
