NIGHT SUPPORT WORKER
Salary: GBP13 per hour

This role is based in Godalming, Surrey.

Overview:
Our residents are at the heart of everything we do at the Meath Epilepsy Charity. Through person-centered planning, we ensure that everyone remains focused on achieving their goals and maintaining their independence as much as possible. We seek team players with excellent communication skills who want to deliver high-quality care and support while maintaining safety standards at all times in line with company policies. Full training will be provided.

We have roles from 23 to 46 hours a week available.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Providing direct care for all aspects of the individual resident's assessed needs in accordance with their care plan.
  • Following all policies and procedures.
  • Assisting residents with personal care as needed.
  • Administering and storing prescribed medication in line with legislation.
  • Assisting residents with mobility where appropriate.
  • Communicating relevant information about residents to team members to update individual care plans and ensure appropriate care, noting any changes in physical, medical, or psychological conditions.
  • Reporting immediately to senior staff any accidents or incidents involving residents, staff, or visitors.
  • Being aware of safeguarding policies and procedures, especially in cases of abuse allegations.
  • Handling medication procedures, including requesting senior staff to administer prescribed drugs such as analgesics, laxatives, and diazepam.
  • Attending 1:1 supervision meetings with your line manager every six weeks.
  • Following instructions from your line manager or senior staff as required.
  • Performing any other reasonable tasks as needed.
  • Implementing Meath policies and procedures. The listed duties are not exhaustive, and other tasks may be required for the proper performance of the role.

Experience, Knowledge, and Qualifications:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with the public, trustees, professional bodies, and other stakeholders, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and other operating systems.

Essential:

  • Responsibility and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility, reliability, and punctuality.
  • Willingness to attend relevant training to maintain high operational and safety standards.
  • Maintaining a high level of confidentiality regarding all matters at the Meath.

Desirable: Awareness of CQC requirements and holding or willingness to work towards a relevant Health and Social Care qualification.
