Job summary

CareTech is seeking a dedicated Support Worker in Dunoon to help young people with daily routines, provide emotional support, and join in activities like trips and creative projects. You will help create a warm home environment, support records, and engage in training to develop your skills within a caring setting.

The role is full-time with paid induction and opportunities for career development. DBS/PVG checks are required, and staff receive ongoing support through the CareTech Foundation.

Qualifications

• Experience in childcare or social care is beneficial.
• Warm, patient, a great listener and encourager.

Responsibilities

• Support young people with daily routines such as getting ready for school and meal prep.
• Plan and participate in activities and maintain a warm, homely environment.
• Keep essential records and use electronic care recording systems (Clearcare advantageous).

Pay:£27,976 unqualified - £29,036 with an SVQ or HNC - £32,510 with both SVQ & HNC

What You’ll Do

As a support worker, you will support young people with their daily routines; Getting them ready for school, prepping for meal times and planning activities. You will also:

• Create a warm, homely environment by helping with light housekeeping.
• Build strong, meaningful relationships and provide emotional support.
• Plan and join fun activities like trips to the park, popcorn & movie nights or creative projects.
• Keep essential records to ensure the best possible care.
• New staff must be comfortable using an electronic care recording system on a daily basis to document, monitor, and update children and young people’s records accurately. Experience with Clearcare is an advantage, but not essential, as full training will be provided. However, all staff are expected to confidently use digital systems as part of their day-to-day role.
