Job summary

CareTech is recruiting a dedicated Support Worker to help children and young people in residential care across the UK. No prior care experience is required, and transferable skills from retail, hospitality, customer service or education are welcomed.

You will join a warm, supportive team and complete a comprehensive induction. You’ll support daily routines, plan activities, document care using electronic systems, and contribute to a safe, nurturing environment designed to help young people

Qualifications

• No prior care experience required.
• Transferable skills from retail, hospitality, customer service or education are welcome.
• Experience in residential settings, mental health, autism, learning disabilities or SEN is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support young people with daily routines, including getting ready for school, meals, and activity planning.
• Create a warm, homely environment by helping with light housekeeping.
• Build positive relationships and provide emotional support.
• Plan and take part in activities such as outdoor trips and creative sessions.
• Keep essential records to ensure the best possible care.
• Use electronic care recording systems daily to document and update records; Clearcare experience is a bonus.

£28,891 to £30,888 per annum dependant on qualifications

What You’ll Do

• As a Support Worker, you will support young people with their daily routines; getting them ready for school, preparing meals and planning activities
• Create a warm, homely environment by helping with light housekeeping
• Build positive relationships and provide emotional support
• Plan and take part in activities such as outdoor trips and creative sessions
• Keep essential records to ensure the best possible care
• Use electronic care recording systems on a daily basis to document, monitor, and update children and young people’s records accurately. Experience with Clearcare is an advantage, but not essential, as full training will be provided.
