Peters Dean Care Ltd seeks a dedicated Waking Night Support Worker to maintain safety and wellbeing for young people overnight in small residential homes. You will provide reassurance, respond to incidents, and ensure smooth handovers to day teams.
The role requires vigilance, calmness under pressure, and a commitment to safeguarding. Experience in residential childcare, flexibility for 10pm–8am shifts, and a full UK driving licence are essential.
Looking for a role where your presence can make all the difference?
For many young people in residential care, the night can be the most difficult part of the day. Feelings of anxiety, uncertainty, and past trauma don't disappear when the lights go out. That's why having calm, reliable, and compassionate adults on hand throughout the night is so important. This opportunity offers the chance to join a growing therapeutic service supporting children and young people with complex emotional and behavioural needs. Working within small residential homes supporting up to two young people, you'll play a vital role in maintaining a safe, stable, and nurturing environment throughout the night.
If you're someone who remains calm under pressure, values consistency, and wants to make a meaningful difference, we'd love to hear from you.
As a Waking Night Support Worker, you'll be responsible for maintaining the safety, wellbeing, and security of young people throughout the night. You'll provide reassurance and support when required, respond appropriately to incidents or emergencies, complete relevant documentation, and help ensure a smooth handover to the day team. This role requires a vigilant, proactive approach and the ability to remain calm, professional, and supportive in challenging situations.
We're looking for a compassionate, resilient individual who understands the importance of providing stability and reassurance to young people.
