Cambian Group Plc is seeking a Waking Nights Support Worker for our Children’s Residential Home. You will be awake during night shifts, providing safety, emotional reassurance and stability to children who have experienced trauma.
You will monitor wellbeing, respond to distress, complete accurate logs and handovers, support bedtimes and morning routines, and help maintain a calm, therapeutic environment throughout the night.

This role is crucial in providing safety, stability, and emotional reassurance through the night. As part of a therapeutic and trauma-informed environment, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the children in our care feel safe, secure, and supported – even while the rest of the world sleeps.
Our residential home provides a nurturing and structured environment for children and young people who have experienced trauma, neglect, or significant challenges in their early lives. We work closely with social workers, therapists, and educational professionals to offer a holistic and child-centred care approach.
As a Waking Nights Support Worker, you will:
This role is waking, not sleeping. You’ll be awake and alert throughout the shift to ensure full supervision and support is provided.
We’re looking for someone who:
New staff must be comfortable using an electronic care recording system on a daily basis to document, monitor, and update children and young people’s records accurately. Experience with Clearcare is an advantage, but not essential, as full training will be provided. However, all staff are expected to confidently use digital systems as part of their day-to-day role.
