Job description

Are you a night owl? Do you work best through the evening? If so, we may have just the role for you! Our resilient adult services programme is recruiting for a Male Support Worker to join our Waking Night team working in Throop on a part-time basis.

Due to the nature of the people we support, we can only accept applications from male candidates who have a strong background in health and social care, along with experience of autism or complex care.

The role:

Our purpose in adult services is to empower the people we support to live as independently as possible and see them thrive. Each person we help has their own unique way of communicating, whether this be PECs boards, Sign Along, or through repeating specific phrases. If you’ve not used Sign Along previously, don't worry as training is provided!

Hours of work:

10 hours per week

At the heart of everything we do is to promote the independence of the person we support. Ensuring we have a relaxed, empathetic, and encouraging team helps us achieve this.

A Waking Night Support Worker’s responsibilities include:
  1. Staying alert throughout the shift
  2. Administering any necessary medication
  3. Completing documentation at regular intervals during the shift
  4. Following the support plan for each person, adapting it as required based on changes in behaviour
  5. Providing elements of personal care, including hygiene prompts, assisting with bathing and washing, and medication
  6. Employee Referral Scheme – earn £400 for each successful referral!
  7. Participating in a 12-week induction programme, including in-house training, e-learning, shadowing, coaching, and mentoring
  8. Opportunity to complete an accredited qualification after passing your probation
  9. Cycle to work scheme
  10. Up to 33 days of annual leave (pro-rata, including bank holidays)

  12. A 24-hour Employee Assistance Programme providing support on issues like money management, family, and legal matters
