Job summary

Valence School in the United Kingdom is seeking a Waking Night Student Support Assistant to care for young people with SEND, ensuring safety, wellbeing and overnight support for developing independence.

The role includes evening/night checks, personal care, record-keeping, and collaboration with staff to maintain high standards. This position is prorated for part-time posts with DBS checks and development toward Level 3 Residential Childcare Diploma.

Qualifications

• Experience in school or residential settings.
• GCSEs in English and Maths are desirable.
• Level 3 Diploma and knowledge of SEND are encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Support students during evening and night, conduct checks and record accurately.
• Communicate with students and staff to maintain high care standards.
• Promote development across physical, social and emotional well-being overnight.
• Assist with personal care routines and daily activities.
• Follow individual care plans and support independence goals.
• Complete domestic duties to maintain a welcoming environment.
• Adhere to safeguarding and health and safety practices.
