Job summary

Spark of Genius in Coylton (South Ayrshire) is seeking a Residential Childcare Practitioner on waking nights to support young people who have experienced trauma. You will help with daily routines, school readiness, and activities, delivering therapeutic care and recording progress in digital systems as part of a supportive team.

The role requires a full UK driving licence and offers progression with SVQ/HNC qualifications; pay ranges from £27,976 to £32,510 depending on qualifications.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Support young people with daily routines and mornings to school/college.
• Ensure homework is completed for the next day.
• Participate in meals, activities, and encourage healthy pastimes.
• Provide nurturing, therapeutic care and build trusting relationships.
• Maintain records and contribute to care planning and risk assessments.
• Assist with light housekeeping to maintain a homely environment.
• Join team meetings, training, and reflective practice sessions.
• Plan activities and trips to support learning and development.
