Job summary

Baxterstorey in Wakefield is looking for a friendly General Assistant/vending operative to join our catering and hospitality team. You will support daily service, help with food preparation, serving customers, and keep work areas clean and safe while delivering genuine hospitality and a calm, professional presence.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in hospitality, catering, or food service is desirable.
• Knowledge of food hygiene and safety practices, or willingness to obtain certification.
• Strong people skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Excellent time keeping and reliability; physical stamina to be on your feet for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation, plating, and presentation per standards and safety regulations.
• Serve customers in a friendly, professional manner and handle queries.
• Support kitchen/service teams during busy periods and maintain cleanliness and stock rotation.
• Drive round site to fill vending machines, count stock, and ensure proper stock distribution.
