Job summary

Wakefield Council is seeking a Senior Building Control Surveyor to join our established Building Control Service. The role involves working on diverse projects, including complex developments and higher-risk buildings, to ensure compliance with Building Regulations and regulatory practice.

The successful candidate will be registered as Building Inspector Class 2 and aim for Class 3 registration, bringing a proven track record in Building Control and a strong regulatory mindset to the team.

Grade: G11 (£47,181 - £50,269)

In addition to the salary, the post attracts:

• Call-out rota payment of approximately £2,400 per annum
• £6,000 Market Rate Supplement
• Total package: up to £58,669 per annum (subject to the pending pay award)

We are looking for a surveyor who is currently registered at Building Inspector Class 2 and is aspiring to achieve Class 3 registration.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in Building Control, together with extensive knowledge of Building Regulations, associated legislation and regulatory practice.
