Job summary

Ribble Valley Borough Council in Clitheroe, Lancashire, is seeking a Senior Building Control Surveyor to join our Building Control Team. The role involves ensuring new buildings meet regulatory standards for safety and design.

You will be registered with the Building Safety Regulator as a Class 2d inspector with a degree and CABE/RICS membership, and you need at least five years in Building Control. Driving licence essential.

Qualifications

• You will be registered with the Building Safety Regulator as a Class 2d (minimum) Building Inspector.
• Hold a relevant degree with full CABE or RICS membership or other professional membership.
• Minimum five years’ experience in a Building Control section.

Responsibilities

• Ensure new buildings, alterations, installations and extensions meet safety, sustainability, accessibility and design standards.
• Work within the Building Control Team to assess compliance and issue approvals.
• Support driving license and travel requirements for site inspections.

Hours: 37 hours per week

We are looking to appoint a Senior Building Control Surveyor to join our Building Control Team.

The post holder will work in a picturesque rural Borough and help to ensure new buildings, alterations, installations and extensions meet the regulatory standards of safety, sustainability, accessibility and design.

You will be registered with the Building Safety Regulator as a Class 2d (minimum) Building Inspector, have a relevant degree with full membership of the Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE) or Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or other relevant professional membership, and a minimum 5 years’ experience in a Building Control section.

A full UK driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes is essential.
