Job summary

Lumentum is seeking an Equipment Technician for wafer fab and epitaxy on a continental shift at Caswell, UK. You will diagnose faults, repair and optimise complex semiconductor processing tools, manage gas and chemical handling, and support preventative maintenance to maximise OEE.

The role demands hands-on electro-mechanical skills, safety-conscious work in a cleanroom, and collaboration with process and facilities teams. UK work eligibility and a relevant engineering background are required.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship or degree in electrical/mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience maintaining electro-mechanical systems in high-precision environments.
• Willingness to work continental shift pattern including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provide rapid first-line engineering response to minimise tool downtime and production impact.
• Conduct repairs, fault diagnosis and preventative maintenance on semiconductor processing equipment.
• Manage chemical and specialty gas supply systems in compliance with safety standards.
• Support maintenance of gas delivery, exhaust and abatement systems.
• Manage spare parts inventory to ensure availability of critical components.
• Implement and support preventative maintenance strategies to maximise OEE and uptime.
• Maintain accurate documentation of actions and outcomes.
• Participate in production and planning meetings to represent equipment engineering performance.
• Support Site Emergency Response Team activities.
