Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council seeks an Education Development Officer to support vulnerable children across the Sandwell area. The role focuses on leading Personal Education Plans, ensuring targeted support, and coordinating with foster carers, parents, schools and agencies to deliver educational interventions.

The post is a fixed-term secondment until 31 August 2027, with flexible hours (37 per week) and a location at Sandwell Virtual School, Smethwick.

Qualifications

• Five GCSEs A-C including Maths and English.
• Minimum level 4 qualification in a relevant discipline.
• Three years’ experience working with vulnerable young people in diverse settings.
• Knowledge of complexities of working in multi-disciplinary teams.
• Ability to build good relationships with adults and relate well to children.

Responsabilités

• Support Vulnerable Children to reach their potential.
• Lead on Personal Education Plans to maximise educational outcomes and allocate pupil premium plus expenditure where appropriate.
• Collaborate with foster carers, parents, schools and professional agencies to create and deliver educational interventions.
