Job summary

Education First Recruitment is seeking two experienced Education Officers/Advisors to support a Virtual School, improving outcomes for looked-after children and vulnerable learners. These interim roles require strong knowledge of barriers faced by vulnerable learners and the ability to collaborate with schools and partner agencies.

Qualifications

• Previous Virtual School experience is essential.
• Knowledge of educational needs of looked after and vulnerable learners.
• Experience supporting schools, education planning and multi-agency working.
• Understanding of PEPs, safeguarding and educational progress monitoring.
• Strong communication, organisation and report-writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Advise schools and professionals on supporting children looked after and vulnerable learners.
• Monitor educational progress, attendance and attainment.
• Support the preparation, review and quality of Personal Education Plans (PEPs).
• Identify barriers to learning and help coordinate appropriate support.
• Work with schools, carers, social workers and other partner agencies.
• Contribute to meetings, case discussions and educational planning.
• Help identify and share effective practice to improve outcomes.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to service reporting.
