Job summary

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is one of the country's largest NHS teaching trusts. The postholder will work with the Senior VTE Prevention Nurse and Consultant Haematologist-Lead to implement the Trust's VTE prevention programme and to translate evidence-based nursing practice into patient care.

The role includes identifying and investigating Hospital Associated Thrombosis, and contributing to Trust VTE education and training.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse with current UK registration.
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the implementation of the VTE prevention programme in conjunction with Senior VTE Prevention Nurse and Consultant Haematologist-Lead.
  • Implement evidence-based clinical nursing practice in relation to VTE prevention and measures.
  • Identify and investigate Hospital Associated Thrombosis.
  • Participate in Trust VTE Education Training Programme.

Job description

In conjunction with Senior VTE Prevention Nurse and Consultant Haematologist-Lead for VTE prevention support the implementation of the Trust`s VTE prevention programme, In conjunction with Senior VTE Prevention nurse implement evidence based clinical nursing practice in relation to VTE Prevention and VTE Prevention measures Identify/Investigation Hospital Associated Thrombosis Participate in Trust VTE Education Training Programme, The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.

  • Knowledge/Experience in Audit, You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
